Paradise and Pennant Candied Fruit

Walnut Cherry Slices

Looking for a colorful cookie that attracts plenty of attention at your next cookie exchange? These wonderful delicacies will do the trick. You can even prepare them ahead of time and freeze the dough. Then just cut and bake when ready. Red and green cherries always work well here.

Ingredients:

• 1 cup butter, softened
• 1 cup confectioner’s sugar
• 1 large egg, room temperature
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
• 1 cup chopped toasted walnuts
• 2 cups chopped candied cherries

 

 

Directions:

In a mixing bowl, beat together the butter and confectioner’s sugar.
